Essential Application Tips
Mezaya polishes work best on healthy, hydrated nails. The switch to water based polish can take some getting used to, especially as it is more likly to chip or streak on parched, dry or damaged nails.. We suggest wearing just the topcoat/base on naked nails for a couple of weeks, to help condition and hydrate nails before trying to apply colour.
Be patient, it is essential to prep your nails properly for the perfect finish:
1. File and buff nails smooth. Clean nails with MEZAYA Remover. Wash hands. Cleaning nails will remove oils, soaps, body creams and emollients found on the nail. This is an important step in application. (These oils will interfere with the adherence of the nail polish, which may significanly reduce the polishes performance.) Apply a coat of base and leave to dry. 2.Shake bottle really well! Paint nails applying a couple of thin coats. (make sure each layer is dry before re-painting.) Mezaya dries to the touch in 2 -3 mins and 'to use' allow 20mins. The polish will reach ultimate hardness in 3-4 hours. Avoid contact with hot water and harsh detergents for these few hours. (We advise painting nails before bed.) 3. Apply MEZAYA TOPCOAT. This will seal thepolish, adding essentioal protection and shine. A fresh layer can be applied daily to increase wear. Remove polish weekly Use MEZAYA Remover. Dab onto nails using cotton wool, leave for a couple of mins for the liquid to soften polish, rub off and rinse hands. If nails are dry or parched, or of nail polish has been left on for an extended time, it may require a little more effort to remove - try after a hot bath. Because MEZAYA polishes are a water based product, drying time can vary, depending on the temperture/humidity of the surrounding enviroment. The exact time depends on how fast the water molecules evaporate.

If you happen to spill Mezaya nail polish, cleanup is best achieved by blotting the surface with a paper towel dampened with Mezaya nail polish remover. For fabrics and carpets, wetting the affected surface with water within a minute of contact should help removal with the blotting technique.
Unfortunately, No polish os 100% natural, no matter what the markerting blurb is. MEZAYA is one of the most 'gentle' nail polishes available today. Generally speaking, water-based nail polish contains about 60-70% of natural ingredient, namely water. The remaining 30-40% of nail polish is mainly film-formers, typically acrylic copolymer, styrene-acrylic copolymer and polyurethane, or combinations of these. These film formers are unfortunately synthetic, not natural. They are the biodegradable plastics that coat the nails after the polish dries. They form a film only and should not harm the nails.
The rest of the ingredients in water-based nail polish, after water and film formers, are film-forming aids, soap and colorants. They form the minor portion in the polish, and only account for 1-10%. MEZAYA is more than '3 free', there is no phthalate of any kind in our polishes.
Mezaya colours are created with a mix of natural mineral pigments and chemical pigments. These chemical pigments are also water based, biodegradable and non toxic. (Using only 100% natural mineral on their own result in shades that are not as colorful and brilliant). Double Espresso, Dark Love, Bellagio Red, Big Kisses, Pink jelly contain [+/-carmine]. The [+/-carmine] listed in the ingredients is the color description of the colorant P3146, which is a kind of chemical synthesis-AS-D, often used in make up and is not derived from animal ingredients.
